I think part of the problem is we're talking about functionally illiterate people—they don't have a working definition of the word "empathy." Along with socialism, communism, vaccination, democracy, and thousands of other words.

Seems a very informal, discussion-type paper. One thing they don't seem to bother with is defining "furry" (or any other fandom) as if it's "just known." How to make a distinction between "furry" and anime, f&sf or other overlapping, cross-pollinating fandoms? (are Beastars fans furry or anime?)
