Tomorrow is our last chance to stomp the regime at the ballot box in 2025. We can flip a Tennessee district that Trump won by double digits, but only if we turn enough voters out — please make some calls to help us send @aftynbehn.bsky.social to Congress: www.mobilize.us/indivisible/...

This is gonna require some thought.
What is YOUR Word of the Year for 2025?

This is almost as epic as aDULLting (tm) which I ran across today for the first time.
And I was an avid reader of Agatha Christie when I was a teenager, and this is perfection.
I named my fists Hercule and Poirot because they’re about to be covered in someone’s little grey cells.

…also because I prefer to sit in an armchair and let my burly sidekick actually do the physical work.
I named my fists Pride and Prejudice, because it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of two fists must be in want of whupping ass

He’s not kidding.
Can you fix my broken Quickbooks install? :/
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

I’m sad that this is accurate

Yoda approves of his new couch.
Yes, it is his.
He will let you sit here if you let him clean behind your ears

I might have just gotten the deal of the day.
2023 trails west 3 horse trailer with upgrades, including Solar in the living quarters (gooseneck).

Hitch is on order and will be installed on Monday.

You wouldn’t believe what I just paid for this. I’m so stinking excited.

If Billy had ever had a blanket on before, it’s been a very long time, but he was a rockstar once he realized it was not a murder blanket.
And he was out trotting around proudly after it was secured.
I will get photos of him being dapper once I’ve warmed up

15 minutes in a bookstore?

No.

Hours.
I am convinced that one reason why NPR’s Books We Love has been so successful is that while it allows you to filter in a bunch of ways, it also emulates elements of browsing. In its regular cover mode, it’s not a list, it’s an array, and when you refresh the page, it shuffles. (1/)
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

During this busiest shopping period of the year, we’re hitting pause on purchases from Home Depot, Target, and Amazon. Let’s make our dollars count by refusing to support corporations complicit in Trump’s authoritarian power grab: weaintbuyingit.com/?utm_source=bluesky

So now I am walking around my cabin, finally able to start putting things places, and I am now completing the assignment to put pieces of blue tape on the floor where I have spots that need to be filled.
I’m hoping to play… And draw something fun by the end of this

This beautiful nerd has finally mastered her potty training and is ready to find her forever home. Scarlett is nearly a year old, about 18 lbs and good with other dogs and with cats. She's gentle and food motivated. New folks make her nervous, but gets used to them quickly. She's a master snuggler.

I have a credit card that I lock down a few days ago, but because of a situation.

I now have several - not sure how many - attempts to use it.

Keep an eye on all your accounts this holiday season and if you have credit cards, you don’t use just lock them down, you can always unlock them.
