“The New York Times collaborated with a white nationalist eugenicist hacker and agreed to keep his identity a secret to publish a Zohran Mamdani hit piece” is a way bigger story than “18 year old Zohran Mamdani ticked ‘African American’ on his Columbia application because he was a citizen of Uganda”

When the Cass Review came out last year, the NYT rushed to cover it complete with post notifications. After reviews in Germany and Utah came out supporting gender affirming care for trans youth, dead silence. You can be just as biased in what you don't cover as what you do.

I can't wait until the Republicans pass a bill allowing presidents to run for a third term and then Obama beats Trump's ass.

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations.

If you're 45, that number is 74.7%.

If you're under 30, the number is 100%.

“Gulf of America”?!
Trump wants more things named for Amerigo Vespucci. This old 13-minute clip from This American Life explains why. Amerigo was the Penthouse Forum of his day, telling big lies about the New World and selling it as only a true grifter could.

A fable of how America got its name, and how it was named after someone who was a fraud, but the kind of fraud people love, the kind of fraud who knows how to please a crowd.

What's more embarrassing, Tom Cruise delivering an absurdly intense "football is important" speech, or Harrison Ford praising Jeeps like they defeated the Nazis?

Do these guys need the money? Did they make some really bad investments? How did they end up doing those commercials?

Kendrick Lamar could have doubled down on his Drake diss by saying nothing. It would have been legendary to do the halftime show without any reference to Drake. But I guess the beef is all he has going for him now.

Can Biden declare Puerto Rico a state, or does Congress have to do that?

C'mon, Joe! Empanadas for everyone!

The party of lower grocery bills that sold the public on the idea that social media moderation is a slippery slope to the gulags is preparing to build some new gulags to house the working class people whose underpaid labor made grocery bills as relatively low as they were.
Trump concedes that there will need to be new concentration camps built in the U.S. as part of his "mass deportation" plan:

Alito is off the rails: "I am concerned that some federal courts are succumbing to the temptation” to rely on standing as a way of “avoiding particularly contentious constitutional questions."

When will his colleagues on the Court pull him aside and explain how the justice system works?

The House Oversight committee held a hearing on immigration today, and I thought all three witnesses were called by Republicans. I was wrong. Check out the testimony of David J Bier, of the libertarian Cato Institute, starting at 41:55.

Okay, I'm just going to say it. I think it needs to be said:
There is a market for a New Yorker magazine that only comes out once per month.

Do I know anyone at the New Yorker who will help me develop a version of their magazine that doesn't make you feel like shit for falling so far behind?
