Think weather forecast from the 1960s...
There are slight possibilities for geomagnetic storming on Dec 7 and Dec 8 according to NOAA SWPC. Please note that the timing of these G1 periods are never 100% accurate and are more like best guesses.

Two of Belgium's statues & I feel like how they are presented is a deeper commentary on how men and women, or in this case, boys and girls are perceived and treated in society. One gets dressed in regalia & they other is locked away behind bars off in a side street/alleyway

This afternoon, I was in a meeting with Jay Bhattacharya, and I can confirm this is *exactly* what he both wants and will be doing.

THIS IS NOT HYPERBOLE.
I missed this from a couple of weeks ago, but if you're an NIH-funded investigator, please read.

Peer review will exist to make things look legitimate, but can, and will, be over-ruled. Funding decisions, ultimately, will be done by political appointees.

Also USPS didn't loss money because it doesn't make money because it's not a business and if never makes money to begin with.

It did however deliver over 112.5 billion pieces of mail in 2024 and that doesn't even include packages.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

tldr;
New interagency (non-NASA) agreements (IAA) process can take a year. IAA must be approved prior to submission. LWS Step-1 is due Jan 21, so time is short. #NASA may reject proposals b/c of delayed approvals.

📢Another bit of news for #NASA #Goddard folks.

Multiple contacts report that #GSFC library is closing down, keeping only ~10% of the books and artifacts. No plan for the other 90%? Originally scheduled to shutdown on Dec 9 -- now delayed (new date unknown)

How do we know it wasn’t Ron playing the first time saying he was Ray, and now he’s playing again?
Jeopardy tonight had Ron, identical twin brother of a former champ named Ray. @kenjennings.bsky.social asked how we know for sure it's not Ray playing again under a fake name. Ron pointed out Ray in the audience. But how do we know the brothers haven't pulled a Parent Trap?

This piece really resonates with me and my exact story — I don’t come from a science background, but decided to chase my passion. It took a lot of hard work (basically restarting from scratch) but previous experience across industries gave me the right tools to persist through challenges.

This is a great reframing. And also consider this same question within the framework of orbital debris. How many do we need knowing that once they are defunct there is a time delay before they are removed from the system.
There continues to be a lot of conversation on how astronomers and researchers must “deal” with the existing and incoming pollution caused by satellite constellations.

But I want to see this reframed into asking:

“Why do these companies need this many satellites in orbit?”
By 2040, ~40% of the images from Hubble Space Telescope, and more than 96% from new and future space telescopes like SPHEREx, ARRAKIHS, and Xuntian will be contaminated by internet satellite constellations.
