⚽️🐎 Football tactics for

I write about what's on my mind. Could be wrong!
Anyone who says any coach would struggle with this squad is 100% right but that game last night really shined a light on the fact that Amorim is just not the guy long term

He cannot adjust. So even when the squad is there, there will be games where other teams are prepared. What's he going to do?

Think Spurs' biggest issue is they just need better players. Especially in midfield

The whole squad is a bunch of solid/good players but none who are really good/great

Like I feel like we got to the correct punishment outcome but went down the wrong road to get there

If that was - and it probably should have been - UEFA's stance that's fine & understandable

What makes this case weird is it's the local police getting involved just saying "we want know part of it"

The thing is Ratcliffe doesn't want to do those things. Ratcliffe wants to make the decisions himself. He wants to be the guy

You want as much consistency as possible - no question about that but I think trying to make all the rules black and white would be bad

Just look at the UEFA handball rule

And then there's everything that happens in the middle of the pitch. Sometimes refs let things go. Sometimes refs give fouls for things that probably aren't fouls - especially early in big games - to prevent things from escalating

Not that I disagree or trying to what-about this but inconsistencies are kinda part of the game. If you breathe on a goalkeeper, it's a foul. If an attacker grazes a defender near the corner flag and the defender flops, it's always given as a foul. Would never be given the other way though

How do you account for hack-a-shaq tactics where if the ball is near the box an off the ball defender just mauls a not so good penalty taker?

the thing the US and Japan are trying to do, develop properly top 8 men's soccer programs, is just really really hard and, at this point on the path, depends heavily on good fortune in the superstar talent lottery

FIFA will make the excuse of requiring to make top dollar to fund football globally. But it already banks a huge amount of money and much of it is funnelled to FIFA members/voters who decide to keep the president in office. If anything FIFA’s problem is too much money.
