the piracy discussion is, imo, an excellent example of how white/western folks will use the very real struggles of the global south and of impoverished people in our own communities as talking points to justify their own actions, often without actually doing anything for those communities

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of "AI-Free Spaces" pop up everywhere. It sounds anti-AI but it's a goldmine for AI companies to have clean data to train on and it's hard to know who's doing what with the content. I hate this timeline.

This is such a weird problem to have but I'm gonna need to get way more comfortable with telling people no because I absolutely CANNOT offer potential supervisees interviews merely because I feel bad for doing the opposite when I do not think they will be a good fit
