This argument has the strong merit of being right. (And academics, business leaders and politicians who knew Brexit was a damaging mistake but shrunk away from lifting a finger to stop it don’t get to criticise Starmer for making the case now.)

In the spirit of calling out disgusting, right-wing, fascistic nonsense - this is appalling journalism. The Express finds a former police detective who claims there are grooming gangs being tolerated in London and that overlooking them is Sadiq’s personal decision and preference. It’s incitement.

Yes. But this is a choice not to prioritise EU arms manufacturers right now. It’s fine, and I agree it’s the right policy, but it will have some disbenefits.

Transparent column. The Telegraph just can’t bear that the Euro is a success, and a more important reserve currency than the £. Or that the Eurozone gets more powerful as the sterling area stagnates.

This is 2025 not 1925!

(3/3) is just one continent with problems and successes, no different from the rest of the world, and nowhere that merits our special, disproportionate focus or attention or affection.

I’m with Smiley. The change makes me fear I was wrong to think you all were too.

@chrisgrey.bsky.social’s continuing excellence touches on the SDR & Brexit. I wonder about a U.K. that will fight to defend Europe from Russia, contemplates a national effort for war, but won’t dare consider a customs union to ease trade.

If you live in Europe - this is more significant than anything announced by Trump today.

They’re talking about the same result from the same election but only one of them understands what has happened.

Also before the referendum. As mentioned, I welcome the conversion.
