The Andy Serkis Planet of the Apes movies come pretty damn close!

I'm *very* excited for the film version coming out next year, especially as Drew Goddard is writing it. The Martian is one of my favourite movies and he did a superb job of adapting it. Add in Phil Lord and Chris Miller, stick Ryan Gosling in front of a camera, and you've got yourself a movie.

Ha! Yeah, that old chestnut...

D'you have any experience with ink, out of curiosity? (The scripting language, not the stuff in pens.) I've been curious about it for a while but my complete lack of coding know-how always gave me pause...

Out of curiosity, what software does one use for a visual novel? I use Scrivener for big prose projects because it's easy to take chapters/scenes and move them around, but I'm not sure how it would work with something interactive...

Yeah, I can see how you'd want to be able to keep track of branching narratives separately. But writing your first drafts of things longhand and then transcribing into your chosen software could still work!

I started writing longhand way more often this year and honestly, it's felt like the cheat code that has turned me into a real writer... To the point that I've managed to get a bunch of short stories published and finish the first draft of my novel!

If you're looking for something smaller, I'd highly recommend either Time Flies or Despelote. You could finish either of them in a single session but they're both excellent.
