A sad sight😥 Strong winds last night brought down two of the large trees at the Miradoura do Santo Estevão. Another one leaning against the church will likely need to be removed.

Stepped out the front door and took this photo today ... the bell tower of Santo Estevão (ok, the remaining tower. the other one fell during the 1755 earthquake)

Found some roasted green chiles in Lisbon, but the labeling scared me away. Not today. 😂

In Lisbon last spring, someone on a message board asked if anyone in the area could "clean up the tiles on her building that had been painted over."

That's when we learned of Missing Tiles of Lisbon.

So I see all these amazingly beautiful photos of Bryce, with not a soul around to disrupt the natural beauty.

Guess I went there on the wrong day.😂

A view that will be etched in my mind forever .... Santa Fe Ski and Mt. Baldy, seen from atop Fort Marcy hill.

We no longer live there but, maybe in our minds, we still do.

From a memorable trip we took to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, outside of Ely, MN.

Worth visiting, worth saving for future generations.

1/ RE Meta's decision to abandon fact-checking (and follow the lead of other platforms taking a similar hands-off approach), it's not great. But we have seen this movie before in media history and it's probably more instructive to anticipate what this moment creates. ...

While flying from Dallas to Philadelphia this week, my seatmate was a little service dog. He alternated between sitting on his owner's lap and sitting in the tiny available space between our seats. Every now and then, he'd look up at me.

It was the most pleasant flight I can remember ever taking.

The obligatory 'pose from a boulder throne' photo in City of Rocks State Park.

Southern New Mexico between Deming and Silver City. There are some really fun campsites scattered among the rock formations.

Looking out over Santa Fe from atop Sun Mountain (a short easy hike) on a day that was so sunny, a jet contrail threw down a shadow that seemed to burn the ground like a laser beam.

Driving along the Cottonwood Canyon Road in southern Utah.

Keep going, you reach Kodachrome Basin State Park, a much quieter and less crowded alternative to nearby Bryce Canyon.
