Passing through Christmas Card Town (Elkhorn WI) this morning as a snowstorm reminded me of the snowstorm in my script Christmas Card Town that I wrote after spending last Christmas in Elkhorn. #christmas #scriptsky

Every year my extended family gathers for Thanksgiving, we have a fun craft project. This year everyone painted welcome mats. I need to get photos of everyone’s mats. Right now I have poor photos of mine (the rather Prophetic Let it Snow) and my niece’s gnomes. #ChristmasCrafts #FamilyFun

Doing a little happy dance. Why? The Nephew proactively texted asking if I'll help him make a couple specific things for Thanksgiving! (I basically tell him what to do and how to do it, but he does 99% of the work.)

A Battle with My Blood
When I was diagnosed with leukemia, my first thought was that this couldn’t be happening to me, to my family.

I'm Paula. Late to the #FreelanceFriends party because I just got a big new assignment and am trying to organize things so I can start. All while on all-day fast ahead of first-ever colonoscopy (tomorrow). The icky part doesn't start until later today.

Dear GOP,

If you’re gonna do anything with the tariff money, stop bailing out Argentina and passing out checks so Trump can pretend he’s personally writing these checks.

Pay down the debt. For once

Yeah, the house is a mess. I'll clean this weekend. But I wanted to warp the loom so I can try to make a Christmas tartan table runner (inspired by the throw in the second photo). #RiggidHeddleWeaving

Thanks for another great #FreelanceFriends chat @angelatague.bsky.social. It flew by almost as fast as Sadie with the Zoomies.

a3) When the price outweighs the value. Like many of you, I feel it's death by a thousand subscriptions. And $5 here and there adds up to a good amount over time. It's not that I don't want to support makers, but there's only so far a budget will stretch. #FreelanceFriends
Q3: How do you know when to call it quits with the current software/tools you're using? What are some reasons to switch to new options?

A2: I hate, hate, hate subscription models and try to avoid them whenever possible. I want something reliable that will work for years, not just weeks until the next "upgrade" shows up.
I want it worthwhile in the budget, not just new and shiny.

AI is so frustrating. On one hand, it does great things esp for accessibility (like your transcription helper.) But this garbage where they are stealing content for some program to regurgitate "art" - no thank you. If I wanted to read prose by Clippy, I'd teach middle school. #FreelanceFriends

Sadie and Doggie Daisy share a birthday. (We know it's Daisy's actual birthday and we know Sadie was born roughly the same time the same year.) And here they're recovering from their 10th birthday party. Yes, Stanley was a guest.

Got the timer set so I can join #FreelanceFriends today at Noon ET/11 CT

Also have a mobile groomer due to arrive for Miss Sadie between 10:15-12:15 CT. All I need to do for that is open the door, hand her off, open the door, thank them, pay and tip.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Republicans scream about ‘America!’ every chance they get, but when it comes to actually helping Americans, they vanish.

Loud rhetoric, empty action.👇

We will never see eye to eye with republicans on healthcare.

It’s because most of us believe healthcare should be a human right, affordable to anyone.

They see it as a profit-rich enterprise for big pharma and insurance.

This is why any solution they put forward is invariably a non-starter.
