What's the reasoning behind it? To save time? Avoid having to search for available images? Copyright? The AI alternatives I've seen are generally awful and it's not like we either don't have our own images to use, or ones that come with LMSs.

I've also noticed people using AI to create images for their online courses too. It's really obvious when it happens and it's often very telling what instructions AI's been given.

It's not unusual for people to defend these choices as being harmless, quick, easy, or livening up content.

My children love your books and we especially enjoyed reading Varjak Paw. I would be happy to have any signed book please because I'd like to donate it to my children's school library for their friends to enjoy.

I'm messaged daily by MP's staffers who're wanting to know how to help constituents, where to refer them, what to recommend. Not because they don't care or don't know, but because there's nothing locally available and they need to know who else might help. The range of issues they're facing is vast.

MPs aren't just tasked to process enormous amounts of information across a wide range of issues, their daily practice means supporting constituents who are vulnerable, lonely, in danger, facing injustice, or simply have nobody else to help with even the most basic of life admin.

“Whilst the details of peer review are confidential, we can confirm that the article underwent two rounds of review from two independent peer reviewers, supporting an accept decision.”

How am I now expected to believe that two people looked at the paper twice and DGAF?

The Jeff Mills gig was something else too. Following a screening of Metropolis at the RFH. Things were relatively calm during the film but once it ended and Mills played a separate set there were levels of mayhem organisers clearly hadn't anticipated. Someone jumped off a balcony and I lost a shoe
