The ACIP Committee which has exactly 0 general pediatricians just voted 6-4 to recommend that we do lab draws on babies to determine if they need subsequent doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. There are multiple problems with this:

Sad day for children and Americans

Let’s not call RFK Jr’s “ACIP” anything other than what it is - an antivaccine coalition

Personally, think using the ACIP name for this committee is a disservice to all those who served for decades

Thanks to all those watching and reporting on the “ACIP” meeting. No doubt hard to watch.

Profound sadness to see what it has become.

Dr Goldman points out the committee bias, unqualified presenters, lack of transparency, cherry-picking data, sidelining actual SMEs, & failure to follow established ACIP procedures. They could have addressed this issue with an unbiased review of evidence (GRADE). That's not what is happening here.
Jason Goldman of ACP (liaison) absolutely ripping the #ACIP on the entire bullshit presented by the committee, says they're promoting an antivaccine agenda. This is amazing, someone please clip it.

My takeaway from ACIP so far: they have not presented any evidence of harm from the hepatitis B vaccine, yet there are immense benefits.

I'll share our other words of thanks at the end to get to the #HCWvsHunger results without further ado!! This year, all of you raised $1,038,289! Prior to 2025, our record was 2024 when we raised $812,662. Incredible! And all of us did this together despite the Twitter exodus! /2 #MedSky

In 3rd place, with $80,842, is the #IDSky team, #MEALioidosis. (FYI Melioidosis is due to gram neg Burkholderia pseudomallei, spread via contaminated air/soil/water, may follow weather disasters, & causes pneumonia, fever, etc...& then *MEAL* like #HCWvsHunger, get it? They’d want you to know. 🧠) 5/

Vaccinating newborns against hepatitis B saves lives. Why might a CDC panel stop recommending it?

The universal HBV birth dose has prevented more than 90,000 childhood deaths since 1991, but a federal vaccine advisory group may vote to end the practice.
