But I really adore the through-line heart in his comics. This continuous processing of what it means to be good and do right against the impossible.

I wouldn't even say that is a boundary, that is a striction. It's controlling and isolating and innately toxic. It posits especially that people are incapable of having healthy relationships with ex partners and just other people in general.

The extreme prevalence of the denial and lack of knowledge around punk being an innately and explicitly queer subculture is the best evidence of this.

I'd even guess homophobic /racist/ misogynistic *emo* guys from the early 2000s probably did as much or more damage as their *jock* counterparts.

I'm just gonna say that in my opinion (for my generation at least) a lot of people adopted the aesthetics of punk/goth/emo but none of the ethos or spirit within these subcultures.

If you look at the Trump family as the best example: do you really think there isn't a connection between their Bitcoin bullshit, GenAI, billionaires(zuck/musk/MBS and etc), and who Trump pardons, praises, and hands power or tax breaks too... It's all happening in broad daylight.

If you are looking to find the connective tissue of which I'm talking about, look into the politicians(globally) who are insisting that GenAi be given "special exceptions" from established laws. Look into who is funding their campaigns and putting money into their pockets (directly or indirectly).
