Pennine Way enthusiast since 1973. Social account. No politics. My second favourite National Trail is Hadrian's Wall. Also a Great Outdoors Challenge 10x+ "Leg End". Allotment holder.
Me too. Quite a toughie.

I'm not a great fan of wooden ladder stiles. I nearly came a cropper on one on the Pennine Way once. I slipped & ended upside with one leg firmly stuck at the top. How I didn't break my leg was a mystery.

Don't forget to recommend a walk around the allotment to see what grows well & what doesn't. Oh & crop rotation.

Selling it in specially labelled souvenir bags with a suitable sticker about sustainability of the site would give a revenue stream possibly 10s of 1,000s times more than selling it to the building trade? Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Have you ever thought of selling small bags of pumice to visitors? A simple & easy way to raise funds for future work & a beautiful souvenir for people coming to see your wonderful site?

It tipped it down when we were there a few weeks ago, so our walking was limited. I did collect some walnut windfall from the path outside the YH, though. Happy memories of Malham. I first met Tom Stephenson there several decades ago.

Which Wordle App do you use Emily? Mine appears to give totally different words.

Here's one local for you. I saw this on a recent visit to Colchester.
