Findings: Yes.⏱️ Giving the 1st dose ≤60 min + 2nd ≤30 min cut hospitalization odds.
⏱️💉Faster pain care matters. Among >9,000 ED visits for pediatric #SCD pain, timely delivery of both the 1st and 2nd #opioid doses was linked to significantly lower hospitalization rates.

Airway stable? → Urgent OR reduction (ortho ± CT surgery).
Airway compromised? → Immediate reduction in resus bay.

Posterior SC Dislocation — A “Can’t Miss” Injury 🚨
Rare but critical. Posterior displacement of the clavicle can compress the trachea, esophagus, & great vessels.
Missed diagnosis can = airway or vascular catastrophe.
👉 Always suspect after blunt chest/shoulder trauma.

The presentations will be followed by a discussion moderated by SIREN Co-Director Laura Gottlieb with the presenters and Dr. Sarah DeSilvey from the Gravity Project exploring the advantages and disadvantages of screening + referral models vs. alternatives to screening models.
