This describes our little girl too. She had both fear and abandonment issues so we all had our work cut out for us, especially her older sister. It takes a little more work and oodles of compassion and were just fine with that because the rewards are truly spectacular.
A smol sesame Shiba Inu wedged into a corner of a couch, trying to disappear into the crack so she doesn't have to put her harness on and go for a walk, a Very Scary Thing. She has a honey-gold undercoat and black-tipped outer coat. Her nose is tucked between her front paws. Two Shiba Inus lying head-to-tail on a rug. One is a big red Shiba and her smaller sister is a sesame. The sesame is curled up into the curve of the older girl, snuggling for security.

I received my neighborhood gardening society's Peas Prize for the exceptional length of my squash.

omg, our boy Seth, who looked much like Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, used to choose 1 ornament/year to sacrifice to our feline goddesses. Only one. Miss that guy. One ornament/yr still drops, usually when we're in another room, & I'm convinced it's Seth visiting/reminding us not to neglect duty.

The aptly named Hairy Balls milkweed covered in snow. It’s a volunteer re-seeded from a plant I got last year. Blooms later than our natives so a good source of fall food for garden visitors.

Before pneumococcal vaccines were available I had a colleague in Clin Micro who died from it. He was fine on Saturday when we worked together. By Monday at noon he was gone. Highly contagious and 12 hours from symptoms to dead in his case. That's what these ghouls want for our children.

The Trump admin is trying to legitimize - and USE - the Nuremberg defense, a failed attempt at defending Nazis who claimed innocence via the claim that they were "just following orders." Trump wants full impementation of Führerprinzip (leader principle).

Nuremberg Principle IV states: The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him. They contended that while they knew Hitler's orders were unlawful, or at least had reason to believe they were unlawful, their place was not to question, but to obey. They claimed they were compelled to do so by the Führerprinzip (leader principle) that governed the Nazi regime, as well as their own oath of allegiance to Hitler. In most cases, the tribunal found that the defendants' offenses were so egregious that obedience to superior orders could not be considered a mitigating factor.

Temps are dropping fast & we have hard frost in the forecast. I'm harvesting the last of the mints to dry for our winter tea. Will pull up a few Daikon radish and carrots to snack on while we make our Thanksgiving dinner. Our garden provides, March through November.

"It is outrageous that none of these high-level officials have been brought to task yet for their role in authorizing prisoner abuse." In the wake of former President Trump’s two impeachments, the integrity of the Constitution’s separation of powers and, in particular, accountability for wrongdoing in the White House short of a presidential election is legitimately in question. This Article asks the question: What is an OLC memo as a source of law? It applies constitutional and administrative law principles to conclude that, considered together, these particular OLC memos either constitute a categorical prosecutorial declination determination within the ambit of the president’s Take Care prerogative or a non-legislative rule within the meaning of the Administrative Procedure Act.
