DecemberTraditions# Bringing joy to others can be simple, such as a candy cane hung on every doorknob in the apt. building, or a small gift of holiday chocolate, hidden from view of the camera at the door, but left to bring holiday spirit. Giving anonymously exemplifies the 'gift is in the giving'.

Prior to the last presidential election I had serious conversations with the family members and old friends who refused to acknowledge what would happen if they voted fascist, & it is no surprise where we are now, just grave disappointment tempered w/exploding rage at fear, cowardice, & ignorance.

In considering public bathrooms & who should use them, excluding some individuals is ridiculous; washing hands, flushing, brushing hair/teeth, are simple acts of hygiene. Never once has it ever occurred to me that someone in the bathroom shouldn't be there, nor have I ever felt threatened using one.

In trying out a plant based pre holiday menu for myself I turned to the Dr. Gregor recipe book 'How Not to Die Cookbook', making a lentil shepherd's pie, then renewed my ailing sense of humor because it is so bad it tastes like it will kill me if I can get it down! Good doctor, atrocious chefs.

Shocked by my own ignorance, erroneously thinking I knew a little bit of something and I don't, Ken Burns' PBS timely release of 'The Revolutionary War' opens with the collected wisdom of native tribes, then rolls on through hours of previously unknown to me layers of data I should have known, alas.

On Veteran's Day the American flag from my great uncle's coffin was hung across the front of our house. It was so big it covered the wisteria vines, the grey shingles & the garage door. People came & stood in front of it on the grass listening to those who read aloud, spoke spontaneously or cried.

The blinders are off, the consciousness is raised, and harsh reality sets in, a painful, guilt-hand wringing set of realizations which must be very upsetting:

There have been so many disappointments (which will be explained one day) that the monumental wins of Election Day November 4, 2025 are a triumph I am sharing with all of those people I don't know - but yet I do know them - we brought it about together, which is exactly as it should be!

If they aren't anticipating threats to their safety, for themselves and their family, why have members of the cabinet moved onto military bases taking over homes normally assigned to those individuals in the military, & their families? It appears they want all the protection they can get, obviously.

Senator from Illinois Dick Durbin describes, using footage, the violence used against citizens in the Chicago area; warning: people being hit, thrown to the ground and physically brutalized I found disturbing, and you might, too:
Donald Trump and Kristi Noem are lying to you.

“Worst of the worst.”
“No citizens arrested.”

It’s untrue—and the reality in Chicago is harrowing.

Sen. DURBIN exposes it here.
What’s happening with ICE in Chicago is an OUTRAGE.

I want to share a full explainer of the reality on the ground—even if it’s tough to see.

Pay attention. Stand with innocent families. Watch.

To claim that 'librells' are elitists because they went to college is as ridiculous as saying curious children should not go in a library & read; there is nothing special about pursuing an interest / profession as education is open to all. An educated person is not an elitist. They are educated.
