I've been thinking about my old friend Mortimer, who succinctly summed up the state of the Portland Trail Blazers coaching. For a young team, they'll get better under any coach, but under a lesser coach, you'll never know if their potential isn't maximized.

Just a snapshot of the lower NBA Western Conference standings as the LAL/DAL and SAS/SAC/CHI are being completed. It may get very interesting.

I don't know what the NBA schedulers were smoking this year, but this should never happen. And it's less than a week after playing the Pelicans three times in nine days.
