Skip managers and HR all cover each other. The managers themselves don't go anywhere since they are too comfortable with compensation and golden handcuffs.

Sounds easy. Very hard in practice. Changing jobs is hard, even inside the same company. It may take years. A bad manager can influence you during that entire period: break you down, give bad rewards, give bad press, etc. Manager powers are too big compared to how easily they are given to them.

Time management helps (do defer delegate delete). I am trying to say not to take on things for the sake of it. What do you want to achieve? And what does it take to get there? Prioritize those things.
