Packing for San Francisco, where we’ll meet my daughter and her family. We’re bringing along a precious copy of “Dear Mr. Henshaw” for them to take back to Melbourne. Her son said Beverly had stopped signing books for people and this would be her last: she signed it for our as-yet-unborn grandson

We went to the ballet and came out to find that the US “leader” took it on himself to start a war between the US and Iran.

I recently got wallpaper from Spoonflower.com for my apartment: my own endpaper design from “The Enchanted Castle”— see it on my website.
There is a lot left, 1/2 roll wide x 12’ long or so. It’s not good as wallpaper—images are very cut-off—but you can cut it up and all of it has adhesive backing.

I’m offering this for the price of shipping, or you can come pick it up. More explanation in comments

As co-chair of PEN America's Children's and Young Adult Books Committee, I am not charged with taking notes during the zoom meetings, but I do jot down some things, like the first half of this ( I spent much of the next day adding the rest)

Ten days ago I posted pictures of magnolia buds on a tree I pass every day. Here are three more photos I've taken since then, the last one this morning with a beautiful other flowering tree hogging the foreground. Happy full-blown spring!

I walk by this magnolia tree every day and have not noticed all the buds. But today they’re unignorable! Happy spring to all my Northern Hemisphere friends!

I'm on the Advisory Council of @scbwi.bsky.social . Today we had a zoom meeting and I took extensive notes. I've scrambled the words for privacy, but my meaning should be clear from the images!

Sophie Blackall gave a witty and deeply felt closing keynote speech at the SCBWI conference, to a rousing ovation. Then she went to sign books next to @peterbrownstudio.com who had spoken earlier, and a bazillion people lined up. #scbwiny25

My storytime at An Unlikely Story in Plainville, MA, was lots of fun and I thank everyone who came. I don’t have a picture of it but upstairs from it, owner Jeff Kinney was working on a Wimpy Kid book and we got to visit him. My grandkids here are playing outside his spectacular studio.
