You're not understanding how SNAP works. SUPPLEMENTAL and ASSISTANCE are in the title. SNAP is to be added to the money a recipient has set aside (out of their own money) for their food budget. Yes, Congress is greedy and uncaring and overpaid, but no one is to live off of SNAP.

Arggggh! Has no one taken an Econ course? Just because you choose a 50 year mortgage doesn't mean you have to take 50 years to pay it off. Do borrowers not do enough research to fully understand The Rule of 78? You can run your own amortization schedule.

I don't think the government, rich people or capitalism made her choices for her. Now she has passed her irresponsible lifestyle onto her 14 year old daughter. Having a free K - 12 education, not living in a war zone, being white - she has wasted all the advantages she was born with.

I'm in Social Services. I have a 28 year old *grandmother* in my caseload. Mostly high school dropouts. I arrange employment for clients & they walk off the job at lunch. We DO provide for the poor. TANF, SNAP, WIC, Section 8, Headstart, utility assistance, Medicaid. You live in a naive dream world.

We could come close to eliminating poverty if people would stop having children they can't afford. TANF, SNAP, WIC, Section 8, Headstart, school meals, utility assistance, subsidized childcare... I don't want anyone to suffer, but we need to figure out how to reduce irresponsible behavior

Groceries go up in price daily. Who is getting rich off of this out of control inflation? At least my freezer no longer needs a clean-out. My family has eaten all the food!

It's frequently the result of poor decision making. I'm in Social Services. I have a 28 year old *grandmother* in my caseload. Plenty of high school drop outs because school is "boring." I arrange for employment, but the client doesn't return to work after lunch. Open your eyes.

Oh, please! What about personal responsibility? Dropping out of high school, becoming a teen mom, marrying young, having children you can't afford, re-electing politicians who won't raise the minimum wage - those all all "policy" decisions made on purpose, by people who will probably end up poor.
