Fans of performative crankery everywhere can’t wait for the whole Corbyn clown-car to decamp to the Greens.

There are always better, harder alternatives (usually, walking the hard yards of parliamentary politics), but performative campaigning fulfills so many other very deep needs among people who *identify* as lefties, or progressives.

It's such a strange rejection of history, isn't it?

Dismissing this stuff as over-rated, with an inaccurately mythologised track-record is a very quick way to lose friends.

And I understand that, for many campaign positions, these things are *almost* the only viable option.

There is almost a universal tendency from everyone outside of the 'parliamentary' left (and plenty within it too) to romanticise, mythologise and fetishise voluntary collective action.

Demonstrations, strikes, boycotts, etc. Even stuff like petitions, or floods of social media sentiment.

Yes - and some of us tend to navigate our way around websites by remembering URLs (a freakish habit, perhaps, but there are a few of us left...)

Even then, as a song it sounds great, but some of the lyrics are really naff.

Sure, it was a good ‘Labour’ budget under the circumstances but they’re v limited now.

I’m not sure even the Tories would be *that* different tho? The constraints are so tight now “no matter who you vote for, the government gets in.”

I wonder if the government could encourage the creation of a financial product of some sort that loans the cost of this “mansion tax“ against a growing share of the property value when it’s sold?

I tend to avoid BBC bashing, but there seems to be a real issue with keeping a consistent standard of just simple straight reporting and editing

Edi director's comments suggest that GB News could see "should Britain expel the Muslims" as one topic for fair and balanced debate

This news channel did broadcast White saying all the Muslims should be told to leave. I guess they probably wouldn't host identical sentiments about Jews/Hindus/Sikhs

The minimum wage increase could help with this too perhaps?

Sadly you’re not certain to be right about this.
