File is on the big side. If you want to DM me your email address I'll send you the original Affinity file and the SVG (which should in theory be editable in anything).

Do you want a high res editable version?

And, by the way, yes, we did give the mayor what could technically be described as a "gift". But seeing as its urbanist agitprop, I don't think it counts as a bribe.

We made these with help from @keroan.bsky.social & @jonathanlorenc.bsky.social from the Queen City Urbanist Book Club. If you're looking for great conversations about city building, you can sign up to join them at this link. cathedralvillage.org/adult-progra... It's free! #yqrcc

I think only council's three Grumpy Facebook Grandpas have yet to get a copy of this. The rest of council has shown up to at least one of our live shows so we've been able to hand them posters in person. #yqrcc

It also clearly shows that Carney bent the knee to Danielle Smith to get nothing in return. This MOU will not secure interprovincial peace, and it won't mollify Alberta separatists, and instead he's threatened his whole climate framework and pissing off every other province.
Complete amateur hour.

But I do think this report should be held up as a note of caution the next time someone says they've heard that city hall could stand to fire some people. Even if the management ratio is out of whack, overall, staffing has been trending DOWNWARD not up. /16 #yqrcc

There's other stuff in there but I've finished my lunch and have to get back to work work.

And, I note, this looks at raw FTEs & doesn't show ratios of out-of-scope to in-scope staffing. That may be elsewhere in the budget doc or info yet to come. We'll see. #yqrcc /15

In other words, since 2022 you have a rapid acceleration of capital projects but you don't have an expansion in staffing to match that.
Seems like a pretty clear counter narrative to what we've been hearing from CFIB & elsewhere for all these years. #yqrcc /14

Did I say Deloitte???? Shit. No. This report was prepared by MNP. Sorry about that. I knew that. It's right on the page there. Must have de loitte on my mind.

Anyway… MNP's one note of caution… capital spending is shooting up. #yqrcc /13

Meanwhile, operating expenses versus GDP is growing VERY slightly.
November 27, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Same is true when you compare FTEs to municipal GDP (w/ a peak during COVID that has more to do w/ a pandemic-induced GDP drop) and FTEs compared to Operating expenses.

In other words, the city is getting bigger & doing more while staffing levels aren't keeping up. #yqrcc /11
