Every child’s journey with acquired brain injury is different; some may face challenges with memory, learning, or behaviour, while others might experience physical or emotional changes.
Together, we can navigate this journey, one step at a time. Because every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Research built the NHS and without protected time, proper pathways, and real accountability, we risk dismantling the very engine that drives better care.

Speaking of avoidance, I've been struggling a lot lately with just not wanting to be around people. I'm in danger of turning into a misanthrope. This is a long-standing tendency, exacerbated greatly by OCD. Does anyone else find OCD dims your desire to be around people?

Besides familiarity with OCD, what other traits to look for in a therapist? Also has anyone ever done existential therapy? Apparently, it's about finding meaning in life, and it sounds interesting. So far, the only therapist I've seen offering it doesn't take my insurance 😠 #OCDTalkHour

“But we don’t have any children with a brain injury in our school…” 📚
The truth is, you might. Even if you can’t see it.
Our dedicated ABI coordinators help schools recognise and support these hidden needs. And together, we can make sure no child is left behind. 🙏

I think it’d be helpful for more leftists to know about moral OCD because I suspect that the things that make us leftists lend themselves to both a greater incidence of moral OCD, greater severity, and less ability to know you have it even from the same baseline of self awareness

We often see comments on dashcam videos blaming the crash on a seizure, but the percentage of accidents caused by #epilepsy is dwarfed by drunk, distracted, or drowsy driving. Unfair assumptions fuel stigma and distract from the real biggest threats on the road. #EpilepsyAwareness

#OCDTalkHour one of the talks at the conference was "why treatment doesn’t always hit the spot first time" and I wondered if people had any experience of maybe struggling with therapy and then trying again (different therapist, different palce in life, different therapy etc.) and it going better?

I am doing way too many of my usual rituals/"harm mitigations" especially in the kitchen, but it's still better than avoidance (home cooking is better for many reasons). Also, I'm trying to stop the obsessive cleaning a couple steps sooner than before. This is aided by lack of energy.
