Yeah, the main draw of a smart thermostat for me is being able to make quick adjustments (it's a bit too cold, I'm out of town, etc.), and I can see now how, say, my old Google Nest was designed for that in a way the ecobee seems to resent.

Yeah, i disabled all of that before since those are known to be buggy features. And it worked for a while, but seems to get tripped up if I do something like put on and then remove an away hold. Apparently they commonly get tripped up with their own scheduling logic, so I may just replace.

Online it sounds like this is maybe a semi-regular problem with ecobee thermostats, which struggle with moving between holds, scheduled temp changes, etc., maybe? Which seems non-ideal. Though I wouldn't say I've had a uniformly positive experience with any smart thermostats.

I've got a message into them, though online it sounds like this is a semi-regular problem with ecobees.

No, I'm saying you can turn on the heat manually through the test menu. It's the automatic controls that don't work unless you reset.

Right, that's what I mean about the manual functionality working in the test menu, I think.

This is what you sound like. Like *JD Vance*. bsky.app/profile/crai...

Many soldiers raise their hands.
Vance: "You're all full of shit."
