From Mike Honey’s data, it looks like BA.3.2 is starting to take off in a few places - notably Australia and Germany.

This variant could be our next BA.2.86 (which later became the dominant JN.1).

At this time, a very possible recombination with an XFG variant could easily kick this off.

I’m nervous about this new classification scheme NY is doing now that they’ve transitioned to a new method of quantifying Covid in the wastewater.

Regions that I have rarely seen low (like the Long Island area) are now consistently low.

I worry this is an artifact of their new classifications

Color matched blind hem on two more pairs of pants that I cut down to shorts because they were too tight to wear.

Success ☺️

I learned an important lesson that you also should change the bobbin thread color to match when hemming your pants.

But, successfully hemmed my first pair of pants - turning them into shorts 😊

Figure showing the increased risk after COVID infection for heart issues in young age groups, and then risk for the heart issues post vaccination. You can easily see there is no comparison.

This is more for historical records - that the Trump Admin in 2025 does not view pathogen detection and surveillance as mission-critical activities for the CDC.

For the future when the Covid lack-of-action reckoning occurs - and the we didn’t know any better crowd shows up.

As stated prior, it looks like we have already started to rebound into the start of the winter wave.

Wastewater signal looks like it is already heading back up again.

For over two weeks there was a glitch in the date data (which shows lack of monitoring maintenance), and then more strikingly, the CDC reported in their last update 61 facilities reporting data, when NY state’s own dashboard has only been reporting 12-29 sites reporting over this time.

I am concerned NY State is shutting down their public-facing Covid wastewater monitoring dashboard.

The data hasn’t been updated in a week which is unusual for them, and this is a state run program, so it is unlikely the federal shutdown would impact it.

There have been other irregularities…

Taking a break this weekend.

Designing and 3D printing some kids play kitchen toys.

More to come. Just waiting on the printer to do its thing.

Link to the Puff-Cloud Model proposed by the WHO that recognizes both simultaneous modes of airborne and droplet transmission for Covid and other respiratory initiated viruses.

Inhalation, fomite transfer, direct droplet contact with eyes/nose/mouth all cause infection

Highlights from this weekend:

1) Ran 7 miles at an 8 min 46 second pace.

2) Deadlift at 365lb - not as clean as usual, but still there. Probably because I was hungry.

My goal is to demonstrate that wearing an N95 while exercising is not a big deal, and doesn’t inhibit your progress.

Getting faster:

7 min 25 second pace for 3 miles while wearing an ACI N95 duckbill mask with customized internal silicone mask brace.

N95 face masks won’t impact your athletic performance.

Mask braces during high intensity exercise prevents hypoventilation; suctioning of the mask to your mouth.

Not my usual content…

But part of why I can see Franky and Robin from One Piece together is because you have a voracious reader, and a man who installed nipple lights.

Instant reading lights whenever needed, with them cuddled up together reading books.

Just saying.
