Of course I remember doing this in the early 80’s. The song is pre-recorded of course but if I do say so myself my intonation is shockingly good. Too bad the next float preempts my big finish on the telecast.
Hey - If you had ever wanted to see Bowser from Sha Na Na singing OKLAHOMA’s “Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin’” while riding a giant lobster, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade had you covered.

Since Rush Hour is in the news I decided to finally watch it, and I found it to be a surprisingly realistic film, in that everyone who meets Chris Tucker finds him intensely annoying.

Every time I see an article like this I hear Mitt Romney in 2011 saying “corporations are people, my friend!”
🚨NEWS: Exxon is now petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to grant corporations a new First Amendment right to avoid disclosing how much toxic pollution they are spewing and how much they are incinerating the atmosphere that supports all life on the planet.
Corporations Say It’s Their First Amendment Right To Hide

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – for ever, Charlie Brown
I watched him for 15 years, sitting in a room… inhumanly patient, waiting for some secret, silent alarm to trigger him off. Death has come to your little town, Charlie Brown. Now, you can either ignore it, or you can help me to stop it.
This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass, Charlie Brown

I only know the original from MST3K, and now I have to see this, if only to ensure that the remake respects the central role of potatoes
thought Steven Kostanski's Deathstalker was a blast. like a Frank Frazetta fever dream seen through the lens of Sam Raimi. a super fun homage to (and spoof of) '80s & '90s fantasy - kinda like if The Sword and the Sorcerer had jokes and gags

Crazy it took Epstein emails to end his career after he screwed up everything from arguing against action to combat climate change to supporting the repeal of Glass-Steagall. I mean, good riddance, but Larry Summers should have been on the trash heap of history long ago.

Absolute must read on the AI bailout-in-progress: apparently it's not enough that lifetimes of human ingenuity and creativity have been stolen and enclosed to create generative AI and balloon billionaire wealth - much more public looting is in store...
This week Open AI walked back a call for the govt to backstop financing for its trillion dollar investments in data centers. This was only the tip of the iceberg; a slow bailout for AI firms is already underway. Read more from @ambakak.bsky.social and I in @wsj.com: www.wsj.com/opinion/you-...
