We need stronger rules at all levels:

🇺🇳 UN level: an Accountability Framework to address conflicts of interest

🇪🇺 EU level: turn good behaviour into a concrete conflict of interest policy

🇫🇷🇮🇹🇸🇪: Member State level: firewalls to protect policy making from fossil fuel influence

The worst offenders were France, Sweden and Italy

🇫🇷 22 - with five from TotalEnergies, including its CEO
🇸🇪 18 - including senior execs from E.ON
🇮🇹 12 - including Edison, who's importing US LNG

But others include 🇩🇰 (11), 🇵🇹 (8), 🇧🇪 (8), 🇫🇮 (2), 🇳🇱 (2), 🇬🇷 (1)

Shall we start with the good news?

Thanks to sustained pressure from @fossilfreeeu.bsky.social, the EU brought ZERO fossil fuel lobbyists to COP30! For a second year in a row. Huge success 🔥

Now the EU needs to make this an official policy, and push others.

Even though COP30 in Belém has a smaller number of participants vs either Baku or Dubai... It has a higher concentration of fossil fuel lobbyists than both!

...And higher than Sharm El Sheik

...And than Glasgow
