Like, don't get me wrong, obviously she was right about some things, and obviously she is a billion zillion times better as a person and as a political leader than Donald Trump. But being a billion zillion times better than Donald Trump is, let's face it, a really, really low bar.

She recently said she didn't expect Trump's regime to get this bad because, quote, "I always believed that if push came to shove, those titans of industry would be guardrails for our democracy." That's either an icky and dangerous lie, or an unhinged thing to actually believe. She's... not great.

And again, speaking from outside the UK but as someone who is also closely connected to the LGBT community — it'd certainly be reassuring to see you respond positively to all the trans people and allies here who are asking for your party to make an unambiguous statement of support for trans rights.

Well I have to admit I'm watching British politics from the outside, but I do have personal connections to Ukraine. I certainly hope that if your party gains power, Ukraine will continue to be able to count on the UK's strong support as it defends itself from Russian aggression and war crimes.

Wow. That's super disappointing. :/ I only wanted to support bluesky because I thought they were better than this kind of thing. I *definitely* wish ill on JK Rowling, because she is a bigot and a bad, terrible person who intentionally causes very real and serious harm to innocent people.

Look, I'm not as angry about AI art as some people, I actually think the technology itself is quite cool, but. I gotta say. A *lot* of people, especially left-leaning people who would naturally be on your side, *really* hate AI art. It's just not a great idea to use it for this kinda stuff, I think.

Keeping trans kids from accessing gender-affirming care will, quite literally, lead to the deaths of children. That's what you're cheering about and patting yourself on the back for. You value your political influence and "anti-woke" ideology more than children's lives. That's what this is.

I mean, it's very simply that Trump & co. want the United States to become New Russia, with Trump being America's Putin, and his cronies filling the same roles of wealth and power as Putin's cronies. Of course America will take up Russia's lines now, they want to *be* Russia.

I don't think it's fair to go straight from "proportional representation would be nice" straight to "so you want utopia!" I'm a strategic ABC voter too, but I'm hardly "proud." :/ It's a necessary evil. "It's about country," yes... which would be better off under the NDP than under the Liberals.

I agree. There's been a cultural shift on the Right that's pretty terrifying, and there's no particular reason to think it will go away even if Pierre does. Plenty of people really do like this new far-right populist junk; they aren't going anywhere.

I like that this comment is saying the NDP went too far, and another is mad at the NDP for not going far enough with the dental and pharmacare we got. :P Seriously, they did something, I am not mad at the NDP, I am mad at our system. And, frankly, Trudeau, for lying about reforming it way back when.

I feel bad for the NDP. They got people dental coverage, made an actual difference using the leverage they had, and this is the thanks they get. ... But... Well, having Pierre as Prime Minister would be extremely *scary.* Canada's electoral system really does suck. Gotta vote strategically. :(

If all it takes is a few nice words, why are you opposed to Trump in the first place? I'm sure Trump would be willing to say whatever nice words you want him to say too, just as Ford is. Ford does not care about Canada or Ontario. The Fords were Trump-ish before Trump entered politics. This is silly
