Now here’s the part that makes the whole thing even more disgusting:

The organisation’s own transgender policy, on their website, clearly says trans women ARE allowed to compete in the women’s category.

My sympathy has run dry for those ground floor workers and supporters. At this point, a person has to engage in active (self)deception to maintain the pretense that Labour is a party that enacts the values it claims to hold, or, indeed, is not committed to a wholly different, despicable set of them.

Very thoughtful. A sentence more explaining the justification for criticising the event in the first place would have helped, but edifying nonetheless.

Also, stylistically, I really like how you write. Reminds me of Roger Ebert's concision and frankness as an essayist.
