Mock up of the inventory screen. Would appreciate some feedback and questions.

The idea is that this will slide up when you hit tab. You'll be able to select your items here, and assign them to a loadout. Also a nice description box and map.

The two dreaded coding hurdles are semi complete. Save/Load and Dialogue. Both, not as bad as I thought. Using Dialogue Manager which is pretty easy to understand, but I sorta dislike not really knowing what all the bits do.

House interior set nearing completion. Also UI mock-up.

The idea is the player can set "loadouts" of magical items in groups of 3's and cycle through them with Q/E. That way you can have one for ranged, melee, and utility for example. Thoughts?

New Trees. Also some mock-up of the new enemies. Decided to reduce color count in them to make it more retro feeling.

Returning to coding in more features next week. My goal was to have a small "demo" of sorts by the end of November. (1/2)

Some new enemies to add into the game. Want to try my best to not do too many reskins of the same enemy and have them all serve a purpose. Summoner, Hexxer, Burrower, and a classic simple side to side enemy/obstacle.

After several days, I've revised all sprites to fit a style that I've always admired and enjoyed the aesthetic of. I still have a bit of work to do, but hopefully I can show some work later today. The attempted style is a sort of darker old-school Zelda, so I hope that gets across. Sneak Peak below.

Really productive day. Finished reworking everything to states/components. Added ability, as well as interactions such has death and animations. Excited to have figured out a simple way for idle enemies to detect the player when attacked from distance.

Implemented simple state machines for player and the Blood Drop so I could pull off cooldowns and hurt animations. Feels a lot smoother.

It became so bright and saturated I lost the vibe I intended. After a weekend break I remade everything from scratch. Looking back I am shocked I was happy with the tweaks I made. I am much happier with the new look, it fits the whole dark academia vibe I wanted. Here is the original for reference.

Learned a hard lesson today. Starting at colors and pixels for hours you begin to dull things in your mind. I made the mistake of compensating over and over but tweaking values. (1/2)

Now in color! Really happy with how all the sprites look in their new color palette. I've always wanted to make one that felt very pastel but still sharp.

I think working in 2bit helped me get some important silhouette, but I am very happy with how this turned out.

Although uniforms are not required.. they are bewitched to clean themselves every Friday night. Except in March, where they clean themselves on Saturday night. No one knows why.
