I’m really wishing I had a Patreon right now not because of money but so I could do rounds of voting on what direction to take my wax carving for pewter casting. It’ll all be things I want to do or that are already finished, but I need to focus the scope and have no way to research it. x_x

Mr. Persimmon Fig is now in his forever home to finish growing up. I don’t know what I expected but handing him off hurt. Ow. But he’s precious, tiny, spunky, growing, and in the lap of luxury. I’ll still get updates at least. Never forgetting this squeaker. My 17yo tabby girls are relieved lol.

I’m so blown out from being around unhealthy people over the holiday that I’m just going to spend the day cutting and piecing together some stained glass stars. My well is so dry the pail is just scraping dry gravel. I need to work with my hands.

Ladies, gents, and corporeal souls I would like to announce that Mr. Persimmon Fig has finally pooped after around 36 hours. And feels loads better. His hydration has come way up and he’s being very much more active and kitten-ish. He’s not spicy despite finding him outside and is SO SWEET.

Gorgeous giant beetle grubs I’m trying to ID. Time to go find out about beetle grub care lol. There’s so much suburban development in my county that the more unusual and uncommon bugs are really special so I really want to help these guys out. I am thrilled big beetles breed on our land!

Are these good enough? I like bugs, but it’s the weird outlier bugs that are my favorite! I feel like I found the arthropod version of a fallen baby bird’s nest 😂

Hey entomology bluesky! I’m in piedmont Georgia (US) and this massive oak log just came crashing out of one of my trees. Does anybody have any idea what these huge grubs are? The only huge beetles I know locally are unicorn beetles. If they ARE big beetles I want to know how to keep them safe!

Hey entomology bluesky! I’m in piedmont Georgia (US) and this massive oak log just came crashing out of one of my trees. Does anybody have any idea what these huge grubs are? The only huge beetles I know locally are unicorn beetles. If they ARE big beetles I want to know how to keep them safe!

I did not expect the -phenomenal- response I've had to my last two pieces; especially the petroglyph one.
