I hear you, but guns haven't always existed, but kids have always played. They imitate what they see in real life, so if they're constantly seeing guns in real life (like we do here), they're going to want to "play" that more.

Supplies are delivered by drone and they must spend nearly 100% of their time underground; unable to see their loved ones or walk about freely.

Unfortunately, the enemy is advancing. This land, which many of them once liberated, is not unlikely to be a final resting place for many of them.
