I think his puppeteers are preparing for either his imminent demise or to have him tossed out.
They appear to want to max out the crazy first so that Vance/Theil can continue Project 2025 under what will then seem to be a more normal regime in order to not lose momentum.

Agreed, then when he either drops, or they have no choice but to cast him aside, they can then more easily differentiate themselves from him while keeping the same policies.
It’s far too likely, imo, that the same policies with less crazy will be more acceptable as things will seem better.

It's certainly possible but I lean toward it being a combination of helping him vent his spleen and an ongoing psychological operation to:
- keep the Right angry and motivated
- try to provoke resistance and even violence from the left in order to justify more authoritarianism

Some Canadians who either commute to work in the u.s. or visit regularly for family are leery, under this administration, of being blocked if CBP finds them using Bluesky. Even then, they tend to keep their FB clean and tidy and free of any content/friend-feeds that could be seen as anti-trump.
