So I internalized a lot of my neglect. I work hard because I think it will bring me love, but I also hate myself enough to push away people in fear that once they meet the real me they will also hate me. I need to work on loving myself, not just for happiness but to keep from sabotaging myself.

My existence was always focused around helping someone else and I tie all value of myself to that. While not a bad trait on paper, I also can never appreciate myself and what I have done for me, at least not truly. I fought very hard to be loved when I was young and it never happened (cont.)
