#inkvent2025 Day 7 is Blush! And it looks like another contender for my favorite has entered. I love when a pink ink doesn't have to lean into brown to be legible. This might seriously become my go-to pink, it's just that lovely!

#inkvent2025 Day 6 is Fir & Fog! The ink is a beautiful pine green, with shimmer that changes from a silvery-white color to a darker red depending on your angle. But the ink sometimes makes the shimmer look green, or even gold! I know I'll have a lot of fun writing and drawing with this ink.

#inkvent2025 Day 5 is Marie Rose! Wow, I love this color! Once it's dried, it leans orange-brown, but seems more yellow when you first put it onto the paper. It's more unique than most of the brown inks I've seen out there. This looks like an early contender for one of my favorites this year!

#inkvent2025 Day 4 is Smoky Tobacco! It's a scented ink, but I can't really smell it at all (depending on your preferences, this could be a positive). Still, it's a lovely, rich brown that doesn't seem to feather (at least on Tomoe River Paper), which is a typical issue with scented inks.

#inkvent2025 Day 3 is Carousel! This is a... pigment ink! And it stained my dip pen😅But wow, I love how bold this red is, and it writes very smoothly. Normally I love "shading" inks, but I'm very impressed with how consistent this ink goes on the page. ...Do I need to get a pen for pigment inks now?

#inkvent2025 Day 2 is Energy! I always welcome "plain" sheening ink, especially in this classic, versatile combo of purple with green sheen. It's like a toned-down alternative to last year's Good Tidings and its "extreme" sheen.

#inkvent2025 Day 1 is Celestial Skies! It's a beautiful blue (leaning teal depending on your lighting) with red sheen and some gold shimmer! On top of the ink, the shimmer can look a little green. I always enjoy when shimmer plays off the ink color like that.

After Pokémon, my first RPGs were GBA classics: Fire Emblem, and the iconic "Legendary RPG" itself, Tales of Phantasia! ...Yes, on the Game Boy Advance!

Awful localization aside, ToP had me hooked. FE reinforced my love for Nintendo, but ToP was the gateway that led me to countless other RPGs.

I cleared Hades with 16 heat and got the Platinum trophy!

Day 25 of #inkvent2024 is Good Tidings! Extreme sheen fans rise up!! What a fantastic deep purple that's almost black in swatches (and will look entirely black in writing) with a green sheen. The inkvent calendars are always great, but this year was especially fantastic with all the sheening ink!

Day 24 of #inkvent2024 is Salted Caramel! It's another winner: a beautiful tan color with pretty gold shimmer. I even got some shading out of the tiny nib I used for this swatch (although I recommend something that takes shimmer better). This is a great choice as the calendar's penultimate ink!

Day 23 of #inkvent2024 is Pine Needle! It's darker and richer compared to the bright Noble Fir ink earlier this month. I love these kinds of greens! There's some nice green shimmer here, too. This looks like a great match for my dark olive Kaweco Sport. I'll have to ink it up when it's free!

Day 22 of #inkvent2024 is Nutmeg! The shimmer is a subtle but pretty gold that adds a pinch of fun to this sweet tan color. Yes, I have too many brown/tan inks, but no, I won't complain when I get another one. What's even better is that this is one of the more legible tan inks in my collection.

Day 21 of #inkvent2024 is Cosmic Glow! Yes, I was very excited to see another extreme sheen ink! I love the deep, night sky blue with this fun red, almost mulberry sheen. I'll be inking up a pen with this as soon as I have one free!

Day 20 of #inkvent2024 is Potpourri! I was worried this ink would be too similar to Lullaby, but it's very different, a lovely dark, smoky purple. This is another ink I'll be using year-round. It's legible and stylish, especially when you can bring out its shading.

Day 19 of #inkvent2024 is Fruit Cocktail! There was no way I'd mistake this scented ink for a standard one—it has a STRONG scent. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not... but I do like the striking orange color. And it doesn't feather! With a big enough nib, you can even get some shading out of it.
