Big news from the Golden Horn, İstanbul! Our eDNA citizen science project (Rufford) will be at MARUF25, Istanbul, 1–3 Oct. I’ll share how tiny traces of DNA reveal biodiversity, track ecosystem health, and bring the local community together—rowing included! 🚣♂️ #MARUF25 #eDNA

Recently we biked 🚴♂️ along Florya’s coast & forest 🌳 in Istanbul during our Urban Cycling & Nature Observation workshop! Using citizen science apps like #iNaturalist & #BiciZen @spotteron.net, we tried to understand the local flora & fauna, passed monumental trees, and experienced urban cycling.

Our #eDNA - based lagoon zooplankton project has recently been awarded funding by TÜBİTAK.
It’s especially meaningful as my first PI-led project with national funding. I’ll be conducting it at the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Boğaziçi University, with colleagues from Boğaziçi and Hacettepe.
