"It’s the end of January, and I’m at my local gender clinic. It’s taken five or six voicemails – the first left mid-November – to get this appointment."

I found out that my access to gender-affirming care was much less secure than I had (naively) believed: www.genderbent.co.uk/will-writing...
Three more months. Minimum.
I am not a man trapped in a woman's body; I am a man trapped in a system that is actively denying me bodily autonomy.

50% this and 50% the same loneliness all modern humans feel regardless of gender but which only deserves special mention when it effects men and not, like, single moms
I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

Hey everyone, here's the news, if you aren't a high earner, entrepreneur or a "skilled frontline worker" (whatever the fuck that means) the "Labour" Party says you aren't contributing, you're a taker!
This is so disgusting.

Very visible connection there between Wes Streeting wanting to decrease diagnoses of mental illness, and Keir Starmer stating that Polanski's Greens are 'nuts.'

Casual but very intentional ableism all the way from this government.

An inependent review of medical evidence on trans youth healthcare found substantial evidence of benefit, and no evidence of harm.

This was one of our top stories this year. Legacy news, who extensively covered a review finding the opposite, ignored this.

Plentiful Data, No Regret: What the Utah Review on Youth Trans Care Found — Assigned
A 1,000-page report by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah, which found care safe and effective, stands out from others: It’s both independent and an actual review of the evidence.

"Biological people" was always where this eugenicist rhetoric was headed - ie "biological women", "biological pronouns" - because they genuinely don't believe trans people are even human. This dehumanizing language is essential for them to paint trans people as genetically incompatible with society.

it might seem surprising that the people who said “look, let trans people live their lives, but i have Reasonable Concerns about sports and toilets” aren’t up in arms about this, but what you have to remember is that those people who said that are liars who were lying

one of many parallels between anti-vaxxers & those who oppose gender-affirming care: they start by pretending they have a very specific concern (MMR vaccine, puberty blockers, etc), but once given any sway or say on the matter, they quickly strive to eliminate all of it
Kennedy's zombie ACIP panel just voted to restrict hepatitis B vaccine for newborns. Experts say it will harm children for no reason. www.ms.now/news/rfk-cdc...

ACIP member Dr. Cody Meissner:

"'Do no harm' is a moral imperative. We are doing harm by changing this wording. And I vote no."
RFK Jr.’s CDC panel: No more hepatitis B vaccine for some newborns
The CDC's vaccine advisory panel, stocked with anti-vaccine activists and loyalists to RFK Jr., voted Friday to stop recommending a birth dose of vaccine.

also yes it's very funny that they are saying biological people - as opposed to trans people.

Why not just use cisgender?

Because the word cisgender is compliance with trans ideology, according to the bigots who have the EHRC in their pocket.

That's how captured these organisations are lmao.

No need to go that far at all. This rhetoric of "rights they never really had" is 100% pure bigot rhetoric specifically crafted by the likes of Sex Matters and FWS.

It's all across their bigot propaganda and what a surprise that the bigot head of EHRC who meets with them a lot has adopted it.
Snake oil salesmen like… the EHRC in 2011 who published trans inclusive statutory guidance approved by parliament? Hard to keep up here…

This deserves a lot more attention, as the AIDS genocides too often aren't viewed as such, and their devastating impact on trans women erased.

Trans women face far worse impacts from AIDS. Especially when combined with poverty, less access to trans healthcare, and racism.

It's hard to explain to normies how much effort Trump is putting into anti-trans policies.

This is like the 12th thing just this week. And there were 12 things the week before, and 12 things the week before that. There will be 12 things next week.

This is almost everything the government is doing.

The GCs on twitter are very confused by this. It's fairly simple – given FWS only decided whether EA sex means 'biological' or 'certificated' sex, it did not change the legal position for under 18s. Regardless of how FWS was decided the position for trans girl guides would be the same.
The Supreme Court only ruled on whether people with a GRC count as women under the Equality Act.

You have to be 18 to get a GRC.

But the Guides say they’re kicking out trans girls – under 18s – as a result. It doesn’t track. So why are they doing it?

I am also interested in hearing your nominations for the worst journalism on trans issues this year - with the caveat that I already have enough examples from the New York Times and am trying to balance out the list with other outlets bad work.
