Ok. I just want to say that I taught (live virtual) k-5 art online for the whole 2020-21 school year and each grade 1-5 had at least one art assignment in google slides using the shape and line tools. I taught them how to delete, c&p, slide, flip, rotate, enlarge, use vectors, and more.

A lady posted on fb neighborhood group a video surveillance footage from her brownstone showing middle schoolers she was accusing of a violent crime. I was like you cannot do this for SO MANY reasons. She uses her full name in her prior and her public profile has photos of her two kids all over it.

To be fair the one who was drawing large animals in the distance was distracted by the animals cuteness. (A baby chick the size of a barn door! 🤣)

And my youngest group, 3rd grade, was really into their Grant Wood landscapes. One girl drew a really good turkey and a boy liked my suggestion to add mountains to go with his volcano. Also, the concept of “naked trees” has them in stitches. All but 1 gets that the far away things are tiny. ✨

Seriously on Monday, I was like f this. They refuse to learn! What’s their damage? Why is 8th grade!? But then they started using what I taught them last year and I was like yeessssss now we’re cookin’! I was even able to explain how to take a decent photo of their work to 5th graders.

Additionally someone in my local fb group posted security cam footage of children walking along the street accusing them of participating in a violent crime (they got into a fight with one another). Like what are we doing here? What if those aren’t the kids? Kids wear the same jackets.

The heroics of the rescue isn’t worth that violation of privacy during such vulnerability. I’m truly pissed on their behalf and there’s not a thing to do about it as it doesn’t violate any community standards.
