Wizard cop. B-list situationist. Used to be cool. I am interested in British politics and detective stories and woodlice and goofy movies about misunderstandings.

Attempted to gather an answer to that precise question a few years ago but sadly my FOI was declined.

ultra-realistic life-size model of No 10 so they think that they are still the PM

Found it - friend obscured as I don't think he'd want this shared online especially as he works in Westminster.

Hahaha for a while me and a friend were using photos of Keir Starmer as reaction images on Whatsapp and then snapchat assumed Sir Keir was a close family member and created a horrendous mashup image of Keir Starmer holding said friend as if he was Keir's weird adult baby

this has reminded me of the Earl of Arran's remarks about why his campaigning for the decriminalisation of homosexuality was more successful than his campaign to ban the hunting of badgers

I wrote something recently that mentioned both the Berlin Wall and the Millennium Dome and then I was talking to someone who wasn't born when the Millennium Dome went up which made me think I probably need to either get some more contemporary references or only write for 40somethings & older

if Labour gain 5% and Reform drop 5% in the run-up to an election, for example. Still don't like the idea of taking the most unpleasant/nerve-wracking part of French elections and making it a big thing over here. Votez pour le malhonnête, pas pour le fasciste!
December 5, 2025 at 10:34 AM
the most optimistic reading of that poll is that the 38/29 split is quite similar to the 29/22 split in voting intention - in other words the "vote Reform to kick Labour out" and "vote Labour to keep Reform out" shows similar dynamics to basic voting intention, & thus could potentially even out
