I miss the 6502. My first paid software gig was to write a GUI for a water filtration control system in Applesoft that ran on an Apple 2+. Later I worked on a multi-tasking system in 6502 Assembler. Those were the days when there were only 3 registers and 48K or RAM.

3/3 After typing the single or double quotation mark, immediately type Control-Z. While this normally means to undo a change, in this case it replaces the curly marks with straight marks.

2/3 I used to paste a quotation mark from my coding editor into Word to resolve this problem. Today I searched for a better approach. The most common suggestion was to turn off Smart Quotes. Then I stumbled on the winner.

He picked 3 of us quickly but not me. I realized that the three chosen had a positive attitude. I told the teacher that we’d win if I was on the team. We lost.

In a chat on this topic it was pointed out that the purpose of Project Amber was to simplify Java for those just starting out. It was not meant to create a new dialect of the language. I am excited that the simplified main can be used anywhere.

2/3 This is what inspired me to create the JavaShortVideo channel. My goal is to keep the videos to under 2 minutes although there will be some exceptions. The videos will be scripted and edited. The first video, just me introducing the channel, is live. I plan to add a new video most every workday.
