Beginning of my thread of films and plays I see in 2025. First up "We live in Time". Terrible name with a pretty competent first two thirds, but loses its way by the end and completely sanitises dying of cancer. Probably not worth seeing
Why stop there? Who needs lasers when Dave can just point a torch at the sky and waggle it for a bit? Why should anyone have any fun if it's not a thing you personally enjoy too?
Let's not do fireworks any more. We have lasers now. Just do laser shows without the bangs. Even loud music would be better than the bangs.

The other day at work I saw a woman bound up to a bloke sat over his computer like "Oh John, I didn't know you were back, how's everything going?" and he mumbled something back and she responded "yeah I'm doing well thanks."

He then spoke louder so I could hear "No, WHO are you?"
"Never, ever say ‘nice to meet you’. To anyone. There’s a high percentage chance that you have met them"

This is true. I mess this up all the time

...Kier? Is that you?
Recently got conned into a promotion that I really didn't want and now I manage nine people against my will. I spend a chunk of the extra money they pay me visiting a Dominatrix twice a month just so someone else can be in fucking charge for a change.

Can everyone stop clicking on these articles now? The "debate" has been going on at least a decade, everyone is bored of it, on both sides

Years and years ago I read a blog about how we should get rid of politics editors and have specialist reporters depending on the policy. As the the years go by I've only been more convinced
I wonder if it's time to retire the role of "political editor" altogether

Return most of the coverage to the Economics Editor, the Health Editor, the Home Affairs team & so on.

Leave the "who-said-what-to-whom" & "what-does-it-mean-for-the-polls" to others. The BBC doesn't need to foreground this.
Watched BBC 6 o clock news. Just a completely unserious broadcast. Chris Mason, acting like a children's entertainer, giving a prolonged impenetrable editorial. Not a whiff of informative content about the Budget or what it means for the country. Just playschool blah blah bollocks.

Could Starmer watch a video on his phone with volume on full blast, no headphones, on a train, next please?
If you want some good news this morning, I showed my three boys the PM doing the six/seven thing and now they have all stopped doing it.

Can anyone recommend any good autobiographies or edited collections featuring trans+ life writing?

The correct order to watch the Star Wars movies is: David Lynch's "Dune"
The correct order to watch the Star Wars movies is 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. Turns the prequels into essentially an extended Vader backstory flashback sequence.

My wife, who took an instant dislike to Manning when she overheard one of his early interviews I was playing, said this guy sound good when she overheard this one. So that's it, he's taking us to the playoffs clearly #ncfc #otbc

Although seriously, very unlucky and you have to feel for him #ncfc

It's all so predictable! This is one reason why I'm always so sceptical that "championship/English football" experience is "so important", it doesn't seem to be helping Manning get us out of this rut #ncfc
0-0 at HT, second half collapse, Manning actively make things worse, Hull score around 70 minutes, game over #ncfc

This article on AI feels absurdly optimistic. AI regularly gets things wrong, as such pushes a lot of misinformation into the world. The Internet put a lot of experts in your pocket, AI risks hiding the experts behind slop, so could increase the info advantage again
