I have long advocated that most beef-centric, debate-fetishist pundits should just take up dueling instead. Dudes like Yglesias or Nate Silver should have to do a gladiator joust or something.

I'd argue the decline of in-person socializing and the rise of podcasting are inextricably linked. Parasocial relationships podcasting replacing conversations you used to have with your actual friends.
