of the way & putting forward a real alternative to what the far-right is offering, or it will be forced to get its shit together through years of bloody struggle against brutal neo-fascist tyranny. I know which future I'd prefer.

of a status quo that has impoverished the working class and devastated our environment. Of course they will choose Farage's dark vision over Starmer's vapidity, just as US voters chose Trump. The electoral left either chooses to get its shit together *now* by getting hacks like Starmer out..

While the enlightened politerati handwring over where their figureheads locate themselves on a made-up 1-dimensional political spectrum, most voters are just looking for *any* kind of leadership after decades of thumb-in-the-wind, opinion-poll chasing politics that has tinkered around the edges..

The idea almost excites me until I realise that if it's the TPU pushing for it it's probably because Willis isn't being slash-and-burn *enough*.

is now I guess, we better act more fascisty" & when it doesn't work just scratch their heads and double down over and over ad infinitum. I have nothing but utter contempt for these useless, empty, soulless fucking hacks. They're more responsible than anyone for the sorry state the world is in rn.

median voter, all the while losing everyone else. And when people are so uninspired by their lack of vision that they start voting for actual fascists, Labor strategists don't think for one second "maybe we need to communicate what we stand for better", they just go "welp that's where the centre..

Like so many other centre left parties around the world, UK Labor remain stuck on the 90s playbook despite overwhelming evidence that it ain't working. Are Trump or Farage "appealing to the centre"? Fuck no, but Labour is appealing to precisely nobody for fear of antagonising the mythical 1-2%..

Because the right tends to weaponise failures in public sector delivery to justify slash & burn, so it's been a bit of a hot potato for the left. I'm glad to see that changing cause otherwise the right gets to control the narrative.

Pretty cool. It is, of course, an emulation box (whatever the marketing says, FPGA is a form of emulation) but a very pretty one with all the mod cons you could want.

Look Zack the only sane option is to let the richest get richer at the cost of absolutely everything and everyone else including the future habitability of the planet. It's just common sense mate. Nobody's buying your extremist "let's not keep doing that" rhetoric

I don't often agree with Trotter these days but that's a good way to put it.

$2000 is a shockingly low fine for such cruelty. That's barely a disincentive at all.

Teaching EIGHT YEAR OLDS about the Peloponnesian War (a topic I enjoyed.. in high school classics at 16) while Aotearoa's history gets left in the dust. Mindboggling.
