The District Court Act 2014 establishes mandatory retirement for District Court judges at the age of 70. The Senior Courts Act 2016 does the same for High Court judges (including Court of Appeal and Supreme Court judges).

New Zealand doesn’t define sex or gender in law at the moment. This is a good thing because even without trans people biology is messy and doesn’t care about random lines we draw.
