A post on Fedi, by @eniko@peoplemaking.games: Saw a post on bsky that bsky harbors transphobes, twitter is a nazi bar and meta is doing carve outs specifically so it's OK to harass queer people and lamenting "where are we supposed to go" It's fedi. You're supposed to go to fedi. It's right here. I know it's full of smelly nerds (bsky user words not mine) but you can either have a slick corporate interface with bigots or the Linux of social media without. Maybe it's time to put up with the smelly nerds and the jank

(psst: come join mastodon, i'm more active there) A short one-page comic with 5 frames, titled "Local Branch Manager". In the first frame, Ntos, a gray anthro fox, is programming at his computer. He checks out a code branch in his terminal. In the second frame, a regular/feral fox is awoken from his sleep by a bell, as a result of the code branch checkout. The fox then goes over in the third frame to a little hole, labeled as the dot git folder. The little fox scurries and digs around in there, while Ntos in the fourth frame is looking over at the fox slightly confused. Finally, in the fifth frame, the fox has returned from his little hole happily and proudly holding a literal tree branch with a bunch of code files hanging off it, offering it to Ntos.

PSA: If you enjoy alt text, it's common courtesy / Fedi culture to write descriptions for all images! The quoted post: "Wow!! There's no advertising on BlueSky!" There was never advertising on Mastodon. "And you see the posts from the people you follow!" That is how it has worked on Mastodon from the beginning. "If you go in and fiddle with some esoteric settings, you can see posts in chronological order. And you can see NSFW posts!" Mastodon was chronological from the start, and has always allowed NSFW posts. "I can't believe it took so long for someone to make these features happen!" *Repeatedly slamming my head into the nearest concrete wall*
