Probably not, because ABC just being on in some households would boost Monaco's numbers specifically. But it will easily come close and be much much better in the long run. Much cheaper and more accessible. That article even mentions fans are coming from Netflix. These are not Law & Order viewers.

I dunno how to tell you that the old world is dead, man. The casual fans are on F1TV. The casual fans already have Apple TV. Do you think the massive market of early 20s women F1 has gained in the last five years were paying $80/m for cord cutter streaming? No, they were paying $10 for F1TV haha

I'm not saying that your setup doesn't work for you, or that it's a bad deal for you. I'm just pointing out that for the sport and for most fans, the move from F1TV to Apple is fine, because very few current or prospective fans are in your situation. For most of us it's great.

But it's already paywalled man. If we were in England and we were talking about it going from BBC to Apple, I'd be on your side. ESPN is tremendously expensive. Apple isn't. You just already have ESPN so you're ignoring the cost. Most people don't.

It absolutely will not. The main market that is expanding is people in their 20s who are all infinitely more likely to pay for Apple TV (I just got six months for $36 total) than a largely useless nearly hundred dollar cable replacement. Nobody wants that.

lmao yeah. A lot of things were cheaper when I was in college because I mooched off my parents. Not exactly viable for the 80 odd years we live outside of that situation.

People were paying $100/year for F1TV and very happy to do it. Now they'll pay basically the same price and get the same service plus some more. I'm sorry your weird boomer brain is obstinate about this but take the win, we don't get many.
November 27, 2025 at 4:17 AM
lmao absolutely not. I do not know a single person under the age of 45 paying for one of the >$70m services. Those are cable replacements for when you convince your parents to cord cut. Normal people have some combination of the main four streamers for ~25/m. Apple TV increases access.

Basic cable is an order of magnitude more expensive than a streaming service and we're decades past the point when the average home has it. What are you people on

I'm not even a big "spoilers matter" guy, but so many movies are obviously better seen knowing nothing, and the idea that the legal way of watching it forces you to know the whole premise is crazy to me. It's like how F1TV shows you the race winner on the replay card haha

Sadly Texas is trying to bring back tuberculosis and has already declared the first week of September as consumption week.
