5. Yup, loved Sinners as expected. Didn't change my life as the hype led me to believe it would tho. The first half of the movie is slow and methodical and crunchy. The last half is great though slightly less interesting and too fast-paced for my liking. Lots of vampire movies this year! (2/5)

On the other hand, this is the first film where I've paid so much attention to the costume design. Everyone was so drippy in every scene...

Nosferatu (2024) is the first film I've watched this year. Beautifully shot gothic Europe with an extra dosis of psycho-sexual desire and repression, signature of Robert Eggers. I will say I did not connect much with any of the characters (even brilliant performances all around)...

El Chacal de Nahuel toro (1969) is a Chilean film retelling a real-life series of murders in 1960. Incredibly unnerving and deeply personal, I felt it was a fascinating time capsule of mid 20th Century rural Chile and incredibly impressive from a technical and artistic standpoint.

Escape from New York review: This movie was too silly to immerse myself in its story and characters yet not silly enough to have fun with its premise. I also found it comparatively sauceless to other Carpenters flicks I've liked. #FilmSky

Revisiting Ghost in the Shell this weekend. I remember watching it in my late teens and appreciating it without really "getting it". Gorgeous flick and just like its Cyberpunk predecessors (Blade Runner) and its successors (The Matrix), the atmosphere is thick and heavy and delicious.
