My understanding was that it was reciprocal. Since the Brookville streetcars are new, I would assume Tacoma is paying for those.

Oh no don’t go giving them ideas now
November 27, 2025 at 4:46 AM
Happy to be of service! Unfortunately my real time information is limited these days to snippets I’m able to get, but hey, maybe when I start my transportation related courses for the program I’ll be fully tuned back into it.

Unless I have this backwards, that gives Streetcar some play money at least
November 27, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Adding to an already exhaustive thread, I know, but this means that Brookville also doesn’t have to service as many locations so it’s good for them too.

Am I reading this right? They are paying $16 million to the city of Portland?
November 27, 2025 at 4:41 AM
Or more aptly, “thems the brakes” but hopefully not Brookville brakes or we have problems
November 27, 2025 at 4:39 AM
I didn’t fully read the OP, my bad, yeah, so that seems the plan.
November 27, 2025 at 4:38 AM
I do know that the plan was to trade for the ST skodas, and since those were recently refurbished, at least we’ll have 3 hopefully problem free (or problem lite) streetcars…if they’re still fallowing that idea.
November 27, 2025 at 4:33 AM
I’m not sure how the skodas, inakons, and united streetcars make it through another planning cycle because they were running out of parts to cannibalize.

Sorry for the massive info dump but it’s so frustrating seeing the lack of urgency around this.
November 27, 2025 at 4:31 AM
I just have no clue what streetcar will do now. The new cars (after Brookville) were tied up in the Montgomery project AND as a concession from ODOT for I-5 rose quarter work where they wouldn’t be able to have wires up…and that $ has dried up sooooooooo.
November 27, 2025 at 4:31 AM
These cars mostly sat in the yard because of all the issues, I’d be curious to know if ST can do any better (imo it’s the cars themselves, built during a period of turnover at Brookville due to COVID).
November 27, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Long story short these cars are too heavy (stopping in even slightly wet weather was horrifying even when not on a hill), and too prone to issues, at least on our alignment.

I wouldn’t be surprised if wet leaf season led them to have more issues and the timeline changed.
November 27, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Yeah, I had heard this when I was still there. I didn’t think they would do it so soon though because their initial idea was to wait for some kind of warranty period to be over which I had heard was two years.

Looks like they worked something out.

He also won't get to put his name on stuff and that would be very sad because another poorer billionaire or *gahsp* millionaire might get it instead.

It’s the same at Safeway too. I had to buy liquid last time and wasn’t happy about it

If you have to say something, just say what you have to say and move on.

“Ugh, this hyperfixation on our women of color elected officials eating is gross and perverted. Y’all are sick trying to justify this.”

Send, block, and ignore.

2026 no stunlock challenge lets go.
November 23, 2025 at 8:43 PM
It’s much more important for elected officials to respond to this nonsense if it gets out of hand. If a video is harassing someone in a gross way, best thing to do is report it and move on. The more talking done with astroturf, the more screen time they get.

Just fyi this isn’t meant to be a callout post. I’ve been there. Just not worth the energy because no one’s opinions are being changed. If some tankies or right wing chuds want to dogpile on the internet, not much you can do there to break through the noise.
