Martha Hyer is my favorite character. Shirley gets the showier role but she knows herself and who she is. It’s Hyer that doesn’t know herself at all and gets the most tragic, complicated role. That scene when she meets Shirley and is disgusted by her is my favorite in the film.

It very well could’ve at the bar scene that would make sense? I missed the line though, chatting with my Mom during that scene.

I’d never even heard of the film before two days ago just was writing about Tom’s career and wanted to get the actual start year correct. I guess most consider 1983’s Risky Business when he was first noticed which is only 42 years. But technically 45 if we’re considering his minor part in EL.
